Urban Art Concept teamed up with Pomegranate Center to produce a plan for a community space in Belltown, Seattle. Through the introduction of street art produced by local artists, the now-dumpster alleys can be activated and transformed into bright and welcoming spaces for recreation. The artwork will take many forms, such as murals, sculpture, performance, media, fabric, and light art; these pieces will not only bring a new vibrancy to the neighborhood, but also highlight and emphasize the unique character of the pre-existing buildings and the character of the alleyways. Our team worked with a structural engineer to assess what was possible in each alley, and presented potential forms of artwork in the spaces best equipped to present them.
