About a Bear

About a Bear

Richard Chiem

I MADE MY family disappear walking one way for a long time, walking and starving myself, finally making it to the water to see my reflection and never turning around to see where I have left. Inside my stomach are knots. Paradise is inhaling and waiting a moment. You have seen some unbelievable things since you were young. It is almost like alchemy to get people to be human. .But you can make brains click, eyes sync. I have seen you do it before on the highway in the middle of the road as you were stopping traffic. You were my favorite aimal stopped in the headlights and waving back at mye and I could see that you wanted to come closer. I think I started to know love when you left me alone, and stayed quiet longer than yo uwanted, waiting for the chills to leave your spine, approaching the sound, under the rain.
